Smedegårdens Børnehus is an independent institution, which means that the institution's board is responsible for overall management and decision-making. Additionally, Smedegårdens Børnehus has close cooperation with the other independent and municipal daycare institutions in Fredensborg Municipality.

Smedegårdens Børnehus is located in the old Nivå area, close to both the forest and the beach, which we often use for local excursions. Furthermore, Smedegårdens Børnehus is also close to public transportation.

Smedegårdens Børnehus consists of two houses located on the same property and sharing a playground. One house accommodates the nusery for children aged 0-3 years, while the other houses the kindergarten for children aged 3-6 years.                                    

• Nursery - 0-3 years: Muslingerne, Søstjernerne, and Krabberne.
• Kindergarten - 3-5 years: Bugten and Kysten.
• Kindergarten - 5-6 years: Stranden (preschool group)
